Democrat Mitchell Berman will face GOP Rep. Bryan Steil in 1st Congressional District
Berman, a politcal newcomer, will attempt to flip the seat blue
Political newcomer and registered nurse Mitchell Berman will attempt to unseat Republican U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil in Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District.
The Associated Press called the race at 9:02 p.m.

Berman will face the incumbent Steil, who was first elected in 2018.
Berman announced his bid for the seat last summer. His campaign website said he’s running for the seat “to fight for Wisconsin families, not billionaires and big corporations.”
In a Tuesday night statement, Berman thanked his supporters.
“I never imagined running for Congress, but I saw a culture of corruption in Washington that protects corporate special interests and insiders instead of solving problems, and knew I had to do something about it,” Berman wrote in the statement. “Tonight proves that when wor…
