GOP Michael Alfonso to face Democrat Fred Clark for Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District seat
The Associated Press has called Republican Michael Alfonso and Democrat Fred Clark for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District.
On the Republican side, candidates Michael Alfonso, Jessi Ebben, Kevin Hermening, Niina Baum, and Don Raihala competed for their party’s nomination. In the Democratic primary, voters chose between Fred Clark, Chris Armstrong, and Ginger Murray.
In a statement from Fred Clark’s office, he said “This election isn’t about left and right – it’s about right and wrong. And we all know that what we’re seeing is wrong. It’s wrong to make healthcare more expensive for millions of Americans. It’s wrong to slash a trillion dollars from Medicaid… “And northern Wisconsin deserves a Congressman willing to say so. Tom Tiffany hasn’t. Michael Alfonso won’t.”
The winners will now advance to the general election on Tuesday, November 3rd. Voters will decide who will represent Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
