WISCONSIN. (Northern News Now) - Former state lawmaker Fred Clark has won the Democratic primary in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, defeating two challengers to secure his spot on the November ballot where he will face Trump-endorsed Republican Michael Alfonso.
The stage is officially set for November. After voters headed to the polls to narrow the field for northern Wisconsin’s next seat in Congress, a high-stakes battle is fully underway—and both candidates say they are ready to drive their messages home and secure as many votes as possible.
After winning the Democratic primary with 37 percent of the votes, former state lawmaker Fred Clark is shifting his focus to November.
“It was an exciting night. We didn’t see our race called until around 10:30pm, but at the end of the night, I was glad to have a solid win,” said Clark.
Clark is targeting moderates by focusing on healthcare, trade impacts, and Washington gridlock—while challenging Michael Alfonso to a series of debates.
