Democrat Rick Crosson to face Rep. Tony Wied for Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District
NORTHEAST WISCONSIN, Wis. (WBAY) — Military veteran Rick Crosson will face Republican Rep. Tony Wied for Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional district in November.
The Democratic primary for Crosson was called after midnight Wednesday, when more than 90% of the vote was counted and Crosson led his opponents by 2 points.
At the time of this writing, with 98.7% of the votes counted in the 8th District, Crosson led 35.2% of the vote to Mark Scheffler’s 33% and Katrina deVille’s 31.6%.
A Democrat has not won the 8th Congressional District seat since 2008.
Wied (R-Green Bay) ran unopposed in Tuesday’s primary, leaving him to focus on the general election while three Democrats competed for the chance to challenge him in November.
