Bernie Moreno Drops F-Bomb When Pressed On Delay In Max Miller Statement

Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) lashed out at a reporter on Monday who grilled him over why it took so long to publicly speak out against his former son-in-law, Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio), who was accused of domestic abuse.
“You know, I hope you never have to go through a situation like this, and you wouldn’t ask that kind of fucking question,” Moreno reportedly told CNN’s Ellis Kim on Monday, according to NBC News’ Frank Thorp V.

Last week, Miller’s ex-wife and Bernie Moreno’s daughter, Emily Moreno, accused the Ohio representative of multiple incidents of abuse, including holding a gun to her head and possibly fracturing their 2-year-old daughter’s collarbone, according to records obtained by Mother Jones.
According to an affidavit, she claimed Miller “physically touched [Moreno’s] counsel without consent.”

Miller denied the allegations and filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife.
She was granted a temporary restraining order last month.
On Friday, when Bernie Moreno was pressed by NOTUS if Republicans should replace his former son-in-law on the ticket, he responded, “I don’t know.”
In a follow-up statement to the outlet, Reagan McCarthy, a spokesperson for the Ohio senator wrote, “While we won’t dignify this baseless attacks by Democrats and their media allies, Senator Moreno will not speak on active litigation involving his family.”
Bernie Moreno gave one more statement on X admitting the “last two years have been pure hell” for his family following his daughter’s divorce. He said he wanted to keep the matter private, but MIller’s “increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior has made that impossible.”

“As he has admitted privately, Max Miller needs serious psychological help. He is a danger to my daughter, and I hold my breath every minute he has custody of my granddaughter,” the Ohio senator wrote. “If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office, Max Miller fails them.”
Semafor’s Burgess Everett pressed Bernie Moreno further on why Miller is not resigning, where he responded, “You’ll have to ask him.”

“Look, guys, this is about my personal family situation,” the Ohio senator reportedly said. “It’s pretty grotesque.”
