Hines wins Dem nomination in 10th District, will face Bouchard

The match up for November in Michigan’s 10th Congressional District is all but set, as U.S. Army veteran Michael Bouchard Jr. and attorney Christina Hines secured their respective party’s nominations in Tuesday’s primary election.

With U.S. Rep. John James (R-Shelby Township), opting against reelection to pursue the governor’s office, the 10th Congressional District, which covers southern Macomb County and parts of eastern Oakland County, is up for grabs.

In the Democratic primary Hines faced former Pontiac Mayor Tim Greimel and former Department of Commerce Attorney Eric Chung.

The Associated Press called the race for Hines at 12;09 a.m. Wednesday. Unofficial totals from both counties show Hines received 46,993 votes, Chung 29,650 and Greimel 23,307.
