Rep. Sheri Biggs highlights defense, healthcare priorities as Senate race heads to runoff
As two candidates compete in a runoff for a U.S. Senate seat in South Carolina, U.S. Rep. Sheri Biggs says Congress is advancing legislation she believes could have an impact on families at home.
Biggs, a Republican who represents South Carolina's 3rd Congressional District, pointed to several bills moving through Congress, including legislation focused on domestic manufacturing and the military.
One measure she highlighted is the “Made in America Defense Act,” which is designed to speed up the use and sale of American-made defense equipment.
Biggs said the legislation could benefit manufacturers in South Carolina while reducing the military's reliance on foreign suppliers.
She said the measure would allow American-made defense products to be used domestically and sold to U.S. allies.
